SWE Atlanta hosted our bi-annual WOW! That's Engineer at Avanos Medical in Alpharetta, GA on Nov. 16, 2019. This year, we offered three types of STEM programs for our middle school, high school and parents. Between the Girl Scouts, our SWENext Club, and local students in our community, we had about 60 middle and high school students and over 25 parents who participated in this event. Over 40 volunteers of SWE members, professionals, and SWE collegiate - Georgia Tech and Spelman college ensured participants had an memorable WOW! That's Engineering experience. Our SWE collegiate provided insight to our parents and high school students on college life and hints on how to support their daughters entering the STEM careers while our middle school students had a fun-filled day learning about LEDs, chromatography, and blush basic chemistry.
