SWE Atlanta Executive Board
President
Christi Fiorentini As President, Christi represents SWE Atlanta to the engineering community, including other professional organizations and companies. She receives and delegates correspondence from SWE, other sections, organizations, individuals, and others. The president also runs all executive council meetings. Christi recently joined Halyard Health as a Senior Operations Consultant in Product Supply Strategy. Christi has her MBA from the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in Strategic Management and a certificate for Management of Technology (MOT). |
Prior to Halyard Health she worked as a Senior Applications Engineer in Manufacturing Technology and completed the Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. Before working at Lockheed Martin, Christi was a Supply Chain Software Consultant at Manhattan Associates after earning her Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2010. Christi has been involved with SWE since 2007 where she was an active member of Georgia Tech’s collegiate section and has served various roles with Atlanta SWE and Region D as a professional member. Kate is a Georgia native and currently lives in Woodstock, GA.
Vice President
Sara Benson
As Vice President, Sara assists the President in running the section meetings and takes the place of the President if needed. She plans and organizes social and/or networking events (i.e. neighborhood lunches, happy hours, etc). Sara has served as secretary, outreach chair, and section representative for SWE Atlanta since 2012. She is currently an R&D engineer at Alcon in Johns Creek, GA and has worked at Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Exp U.S. Services in various engineering roles. Sara graduated from Georgia Tech in 2010 with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in French. |
Treasurer
Stephanie Amendola
As treasurer, Stephanie develops the section budget and maintains it. She is responsible for maintaining SWE-Atlanta’s bank accounts (paying bills, issuing reimbursement checks, sending out receipts for donations, etc). The treasurer files the annual financial report to SWE. Stephanie graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2009 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Reliability and Maintainability Engineering. |
During undergrad, she co-oped 4 rotations with Kimberly-Clark Corporation in research and development, material and product development, and manufacturing. She has 8 years of industry experience in manufacturing with Kimberly-Clark, Halyard Health, and Avanos Medical holding roles such as process engineer, operations manager, and most recently training coordinator. She recently received a promotion to Capital Projects and Control Coordinator, which consist of managing a $25MM global capital budget. Stephanie completed her MBA at Wake Forest University in 2014. Stephanie recently relocated to Marietta, GA with her husband, Marcus, and son, Samuel. She loves to travel and is very involved with her church. She and her husband are avid Dave Ramsey followers and believe in being debt free - getting closer by the day.

Vice President - Outreach
Kim-Cook Boyd
As Vice President of Outreach, Kim assists the President in coordinating outreach opportunity in the communities including SWENext. She is the point of contact for all outreach activities. She is responsible for organizing the WOW! That's Engineering event which includes the Parent Program. Kim also seek out STEM/STEAM volunteer opportunities to share with the SWE members. Kim has been a member of SWE for the past 5 years and served on the SWE Atlanta board as Section Representative and the VP of Outreach in the previous year. In addition, she's the SWE collegiate advisor for Spelman College and a SWENext advisor for EmpoHer SWENext club in Decatur, GA. |
Kim earned her Bachelor degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and has 30+ years of IT experience with IBM Corporation. As a Senior Software Engineer, Kim is very passionate and actively involve with stimulating enthusiasm and awareness in STEM/STEAM in local communities, churches, organizations and schools. She coordinated IBM's annual participation in the Atlanta Science Festival Expo which drew over 29,000 attendees this year. This year,Kim received recognition as Volunteer of the Year from Cobb Schools Foundation for her volunteer services with Kincaid Elementary STEM program.. She has been a Partner in Education coordinator for an elementary school in Cobb county for over 22 years, a STEM leader for APS middle schools for the past 20 years, curriculum coordinator and facilitator for IBM EXITE (Exploring Interests in Technology and Engineering) academy for middle school girls and continue to serve on the school council board in Cobb county. Kim continues to inspire others to volunteer as she was awarded a leadership opportunity to partake in the IBM Corporate Service Corp (CSC), a 6 month program and worked at Matru Sewa Sangh Social Institute in Nagpur, India with college students.

External Affairs Chair
Ana Meneses
As an External Affairs Chair, Ana develops strategic partnerships with local sponsors and benefactors to create a bigger impacting our community while growing SWE’s presence in the Atlanta area. Ana is a Product Development Innovation Lead at WestRock Company, a global packaging leader. She received a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2015. At UVa, she was involved in SWE and was co-founder of PorColombia at UVa, a group supporting development initiatives in her home country. |
At WestRock she was co-lead of the Women in Science and Engineering group and currently serves on the board of the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industries (TAPPI) Young Professionals Division. In 2017, she was named Top Outstanding Young Professional by TAPPI and in 2019, Next Generation Woman Leader by McKinsey & Company.
Social Media Chair
Mahati Vavilala
As Social Media Chair, Mahati is responsible for finding avenues to promote the section to the community through social media. She publicizes the society’s events, news, meetings, and maintains the online presence for the section. Mahati Vavilala graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering in May 2019. |
Originally from the metro-Detroit area, Mahati was very involved with Georgia Tech’s SWE section, starting out as a Social Media Chair and serving as a Technical Workshops Chair, the VP of Technical Development and finally serving as President from 2018-2019. SWE was an instrumental part of Mahati’s collegiate experience, and she is eager to come full circle and serve as SWE Atlanta’s Social Media Chair. As the Social Media Chair, Mahati is responsible for promoting SWE Atlanta and disseminating information to the community through a variety of social media channels. After industry internship experiences in defense, financial services, and retail and e-commerce, Mahatirecently started as a Supply Chain Consultant at Bricz.
Webmaster
Sahithya Reddivari
As webmaster, Sahithya is responsible for updating SWE Atlanta’s web page (www.atlantaswe.org) with all current events and happenings, maintaining services such as Website Provider, Domain Name Registration and Website Forwarding. Sahithya received her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2016. She currently works as an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Georgia State University Perimeter College. At Perimeter college, she helped start and currently advises the Women in Science and Engineering Student organization. |
At graduate school she was a member of the Graduate Society of Women Engineers (GradSWE) officer board. During her tenure as a GradSWE officer, she developed a number of STEM outreach programs in elementary schools around Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Further, she developed a leadership camp for female engineering students from the University of Liberia and the University of Michigan in collaboration with the Society of Women Engineers (PDG Grant 2015).
