Meet the 2020 - 2021
SWE Atlanta Executive Board
President
Vice President
Katherine Mooney
Katherine Mooney is a civil engineer with more than six years of experience in transportation, land development, water, and environmental projects for private clients, as well as state and local departments of transportation (DOTs) domestically in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, Puerto Rico, Tennessee and Texas, and internationally in Canada, Egypt, Haiti, and Tchad. |
Outside of the technical realm her professional interests include women and minority issues, professional development and workplace culture. During her time at Arcadis, she branched out of her technical duties to create a local diversity and inclusion chapter and fill some much needed gaps in the organization. Katherine became an engineer to make the world a better place and that can not be accomplished without first equipping and empowering those who seek to achieve those ends.

Tamara Lozano
Tamara graduated from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Madrid, Spain) with a degree in Chemical Engineering and received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University. Tamara was born and raised in Spain and moved to Atlanta almost two years ago, with her husband. She got involved with the Women Chemists Committee of the American Chemical Society and got her first “real job” thanks to their community. |
It is now her time to give back and serve these organizations by providing the same community support that she received when she first moved here and inspiring the minds of future scientists and engineers. Last December, she became the Chair of the Women Chemists Committee, and she is excited now to join the Atlanta SWE Board.Tamara has been married for two years, has two fur babies (Python and Java, I mean, how nerd are they?). In her free time, she enjoy the occasional hike, cooking, dancing, and hanging out with friends.
