The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a non-profit, educational and service organization. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations, and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.
The Atlanta Section of SWE holds regularly scheduled meetings, and participates with the local technical community in annual Engineers' Week events, as well as with activities at local schools, Girl Scouts, etc. Additionally, we have ongoing activities to raise money for our scholarship fund; award to individuals is made through other channels. (See www.swe.org for national scholarships and grants).
SWE Atlanta provides exciting programs that will bring success and fulfillment to its members. We offer a multi-disciplinary, non-threatening environment in which our members can gain a professional edge. The corporate and industry diversity represented by our participants is not available in comparable corporate programs. Our programs compliment membership in the various engineering technical societies.
